I love nonfiction! (Diverse narrative nonfiction to be more specific.) I love reading it, writing it, teaching it, and sharing it.
What I don't love is how many diverse narrative nonfiction children's books are being banned and challenged, boldly or quietly, in the U.S. these days (including at least one of my own).
So, I hatched the idea of offering nonfiction book clubs—to share my colleagues' wonderful diverse books with kids, live—using Outschool, a virtual platform I've used & trusted with my own kids since 2018.
